The barrel has a beaded blade Lyman front sight, a non-factory added express sight with folding leaf ladder, the two-line address ahead of the rear sight and "45-70" at the breech. A folding Lyman sight is mounted on the upper tang. The lower tang is marked with the two line patent date information followed by the serial number.
