World War II 1937 Dated Luftwaffe Contract Krieghoff Luger This is 1937 dated Luftwaffe contract Krieghoff Luger. The Krieghoff Luger was the only officially approved Luger for use by the Luftwaffe with an estimated 2500 Lugers produced in 1937. The Luger was produced in late 1937 that has the correct toggle marking of a "H-K anchor/Krieghoff/Suhl" which has the letter "i" over the letter "S" in Suhl with the slightly angled letter "U" with the damaged lower corner. The right side of the barrel extension has the early LWaA1st-stage II inspection stamp with the Luftwaffe acceptance proof. The barrel is correctly marked on the underside with the bore diameter, LWaA inspection proof then the serial number along with a second Luftwaffe barrel proof on the right side. The full serial number is stamped on the frame, underside of the barrel and barrel extension, with the last two digits (45) stamped on the various parts. It has the standard extractor and safety markings. It is fitted with a pair of Krieghoff brown plastic grips with the coarse checkering and smooth border around the edges with no mold/proof marks on the back side. It is complete with one unnumbered, unmarked nickel plate magazine with an aluminum base. The various smaller parts retain 20% of their straw colors overall. The grips are in very fine condition with nice distinct checkering on both sides with minor handling marks It has all matching numbers except the magazine and grips as noted.
