Very Fine DWM Model 1906 First Issue Imperial German Naval Luger Semi-Automatic Pistol This is a very fine example of an original DWM Model 1906 first issue Navy Luger. It has the correct blank chamber area, and the front toggle is stamped with the standard "DWM" logo marking. This pistol, as noted, is an early model in that it does not have the standard Imperial German Navy proofmarkings found on the Navy Lugers, instead it has only a single small, military style "Crown/M" Navy proof on the underside of the barrel over the serial number. This example is numbered with the full serial number stamped on the front of the frame and underside of the barrel followed by the "c" serial number letter suffix code in both places. This specific pistol still retains it first position "GESICHERT" safety markings in the lower safety area and the standard "Geladen" extractor markings. It is fitted with a six inch Navy barrel with a standard front sight and the two position "100/200" meter Navy type rear sight,1906 type grip safety, and shoulder stock lug. It has unnumbered checkered walnut grips and is complete with a nickel plated magazine with an unmarked wooden base with concentric circles on the side. It has the rust blued metal finish with the straw colored smaller parts and checkered walnut grips. Manufacturer: DWM Model: 1906 BBL: 6 inch round Stock: Gauge: 9 mm Luger Finish: blue Grips: walnut checkered Serial Number: 2591c Class: Curio & Relic Handgun Condition: Very fine with 85% plus of the original blue finish remaining overall, edge and high spot wear, and thinning and blue loss on both grip straps and left side of the front sight band. Additionally, there are some very small nicks on the right, center section of the barrel. The smaller parts retain 40% of their original straw colors overall. The grips are also in very fine condition with nice distinct checkering on both sides and only minor handling marks. The numbers are matching except the magazine, as noted. A highly desirable, scarce early 1906 Navy Luger pistol. One does not find these original First issue unaltered 1906 Luger Navies very often!
