Cased Exceptional W. Tranter's Patent Double Trigger Percussion Revolver with Accessories First introduced in the 1850s, this Tranter patent revolver has "W. TRANTER'S/PATENT" on the loading lever, trigger and frame. The right side of the frame is marked "No. 20927 T." The top strap has a retailer marking: "H. BECKWITH SKINNER ST. LONDON." A floral scroll engraving is featured on the frame, top strap, loading lever, buttcap, trigger guard and breech end of the barrel. An engraved band appears at the muzzle. British "crown/GP" and "crown/V" proofs appear on the upper left barrel flat at the breech and on the cylinder between the chambers. Blue finished barrel and frame, left in the white bobbed hammer, trigger and loading lever, and casehardened cylinder, buttcap and back strap. Fitted with a one-piece checkered grip. The partitioned case is lined in green felt, has a W.A. Beckwith retailer paper label on the inside of the lid, and accessories (extra percussion nipples in a period container, Tranter's patent two cavity brass bullet mold, bore rod, Dixon & Sons powder flask, nipple wrench, oiler, Tranter's lubricating bullet tin with bullets and Tranter's lubricating composition tin). The revolver retains 9975% plus bright original high polished blue finish showing some minor thinning and some minor handling marks. The cylinder, back strap and butt cap retain 90% original case colors, otherwise faded to a gray. The grip is also excellent with overall crisp checkering. Mechanically excellent. The case is fine with minor handling/storage marks, a couple of deep pressure dents and high spot wear on the lining. The label is clear.
