Factory Engraved L.C. Smith/Hunter Arms Co. Specialty Grade 20 Gauge Double Barrel Shotgun with Desirable Hunter One Trigger Manufactured in 1929. Dual bead sights on the matte concave rib with 2 3/4 inch chambers, ejectors, standard maker and grad markings on the barrels, and chokes .008(IC)/.012(M). Standard Specialty Grade engraving on the lock plates with a flying duck on the right and a pair of quail on the left. The bird scenes are surrounded with broad leafy scroll with "L.C. SMITH" in fine Gothic lettering on each plate. The balance of the receiver has the same style of leafy scroll with fine lined borders. All visible serial numbers match. With a Hunter One single selective trigger, and tang mounted safety. Fancy checkered beavertail forearm and pistol grip buttstock with a checkered bare butt. Barrel and stock measurements are: bore diameter at 9 inches from breech .624/.622 inch; minimum wall thickness .020/.027 inch; drop at comb 1 5/8 inches; drop at heel 2 3/8 inches; length of pull 14 3/8 inches. The receiver and locks retain 40% case colors with the balance a smooth gray patina, sharp engraving, and spotting on the underside. The refinished stock is also fine with crisp freshened checkering, some loss of definition at the comb, numerous scattered indentations, and some heavier dings around the butt edge.
