Scarce Sequential Pair of U.S. Property Marked Colt Model 1903 Pocket Hammerless Semi-Automatic Pistols -A) U.S. Colt 1903 Pistol with Box Scarce Sequential Pair of U.S. Property Marked Colt Model 1903 Pocket Hammerless Semi-Automatic Pistols -A) U.S. Colt 1903 Pistol with Box Both of these pistols were manufactured in 1942 on order for the United States of America; their exact use (and how they were reunited after all these years) is undocumented, but the Colt 1903 was most famously used as a sidearm for American generals, as well as agents of the Office of Strategic Services, aka the OSS. Fixed sights, with the one-block address and patent dates on the left side of the slide ahead of the Rampant Colt, "U.S. PROPERTY" on the right side of the frame and an Ordnance "crossed cannon" stamp on the left. Fitted with a set of checkered grips with inset silver Rampant Colt medallions and a full blue "CAL.32/COLT" magazine. Included with the pistol is a brown cardboard "kraft" style box hand-numbered to match, cleaning rod and instructions. The grips are also very fine, with some stains and dents. The reproduction box shows some light wear. Mechanically excellent. B) U.S. Colt 1903 Pistol with Box Manufactured immediately following and nearly identical in configuration to the A gun in this lot. Also comes with a matching hand-numbered box, cleaning rod and instruction sheet. Manufacturer: Colt Model: 1903 Pocket Hammerless BBL: 3 3/4 inch round Stock: Gauge: 32 ACP Finish: parkerized Grips: walnut Serial Number: 562424 Class: Curio & Relic Handgun Condition: Very fine as professionally restored, with 98% of the parkerization, showing a few light spots on the slide, a polishing line on the right side of the frame, some light dings on the slide serrations, a small amount of spotting on the trigger and minor handling marks overall. The grips are good, with some dents and stains, as well as some verdigris buildup around the screw. A few light rubs and stains are present on the otherwise very nice reproduction box. Mechanically excellent. A very unique sequential pair of American Military semi-automatic pistols, difficult to find in any condition.
