Exceptional Early Harrington & Richardson Reising Model 60 Semi-Automatic Carbine Serial Number "203" This is an excellent, near new example of a scarce semi-Automatic Model 60 version of the Reising model 50 sub-machine gun. These early civilian models have an all blued metal finish with a higher grade of American walnut pistol grip stock. This example actual has a beautifully nicely stripped grade of walnut. They were fitted with a 18 inch round barrel, with cooling fins on the rear portion with a fixed blade front sight and an adjustable ramp rear sight. The stock lacks the standard grasping grooves found on the sides of the military models; however, it does have the blued sling swivels. The top of the receiver is marked "MODEL 60 -H&R REISING-CAL.45/HARRINGTON AND RICHARDSON ARMS CO./WORCHESTER, MASS. U.S.A. PAT. PENDING" in three lines, with serial number "203" stamped on the right rear side with the markings of "SAFE" and "SA" below that. It is complete with one 20-round magazine that is marked on the front of the magazine, in five lines with "H&R REISING/MODEL 50 - CAL. 45 MAGAZINE/Harrington& Richardson Arms Co./Worchester Mass U.S.A." Although nearly identical to the Reising submachine gun utilized by the Marine Corps during the Guadalcanal Campaign, the Reising Model 60 was not used by the military and was manufactured as a weapon for police and security guard use from 1944-46. Manufacturer: Harrington & Richardson Inc Model: Resing Model 60 BBL: 18 inch round Stock: walnut Gauge: 45 ACP Finish: blue Grips: Serial Number: 203 Class: Curio & Relic Long Gun Condition: Excellent with 99% plus of the original blued finish overall showing only very minor edge wear. The stock is also in excellent condition with only a few very minor handling marks on the sides. Mechanically excellent. Certainly one of the best we have ever seen for sale.
