Scarce DWM Model 1914 Commercial Luger Semi-Automatic Pistol with Fine Brown Leather Holster The serial number range of this model was from approximately 73,800 to 74,500. Obviously they had a very short production range as after WWI this became the 1923 commercial model. This is an estimated serial number range as these overlapped with the 1913, 1914 and 1915 commercial serial number ranges. One of the key points is that it has standard horizontal "Crown/N"" commercial proofs, and the later 1920 and 1923 models had the proofs in the vertical position. It retains the 1914 stock lug, hold-open device, new style 1914 frame with the coil spring, "American Eagle" chamber crest, and DWM logo markings on the toggle. The left side of the barrel extension and underside of the barrel has the standard "Crown/N" proofs. It is correctly numbered with the full five digit serial number stamped on the underside of the barrel and the front of the frame and the last two digits on all the various other parts. Standard extractor and safety markings. Includes two nickel plated magazines with wooden bases that are stamped with only "Cal 9 m/m", unmarked commercial leather holster with the short spare cleaning rod, takedown tool and pin-punch. Manufacturer: DWM Model: 1914 BBL: 4 inch round Stock: Gauge: 9 mm Luger Finish: blue Grips: walnut checkered Serial Number: 73304 Class: Curio & Relic Handgun Condition: Near mint as professionally restored to include the restrawed smaller parts and now retains 95% of its blue finish overall. The grips are in very fine condition with nice visible checkering on both sides showing wear across the tops of the checkering with no visible handling marks. Mechanically excellent. The holster is in very fine condition with a nice medium brown color overall with supple leather and intact stitching.
