Scarce Colt Model 1877 "Long Barreled, Ejectorless" Double Action Lightning Revolver with 6 Inch Barrel This is an example of a very scarce, extra long, "7 1/2 inch" barreled Colt Model 1877 Lightning Ejectorless DA revolver. It is estimated that no more than an handful of these long barreled revolvers were ever produced. In addition to that, it has a beautiful mother of pearl grips. It has the short two-line Colt factory barrel address of: "COLTS PT. F.A. MFG. Co./ HARTFORD CT. U.S.A.". There are no caliber markings on the barrel. However, it is marked on the left rear edge of the trigger guard. Additionally it does not have any ejector rod, (exactly like the storekeeper models) which is very rare for the long barreled revolvers. The left side of the frame is marked with only the top line of the usually three line, three date patent markings. It has the all nickel plated metal finish with the niter blued hammer, trigger, screws, cross pin and checkered cylinder pin, and it is fitted with an attractive set of pearl grips. It has matching numbers on the frame, trigger guard and back strap. Manufacturer: Colt Model: 1877 Thunderer BBL: 6 inch round Stock: Gauge: 38 Colt Finish: nickel Grips: pearl Serial Number: 16619 Class: Antique Condition: Very fine with 95% of a refinished nickel plated finish that shows minor surface scratches overall the metal surfaces, with some minor flaking of the plating on the end of the barrel. As noted the frame markings on the left side are only partially visible. The various smaller parts retain 95% of their nitre blue finish. The pearl grips are in very fine condition with wonderful color on both sides of the grips with some very minor chips on the lower front corners.
