Rare DWM Model 1906 American Eagle "Long Frame" Variation Luger Pistol This is an excellent example of a very rare original DWM Model 1906 commercial "American Eagle" Luger that has the scarce "long frame". These long frames were actually earlier style frames and barrel extensions that were later found or completed by the DWM factory and integrated into the 1906 manufactured Lugers. They were used on a very limited basis and should always be considered as a distinct variation that is rarely encountered. This is a mid-production "American Eagle" model that was manufactured expressly for sale in the United States. It has the correct early style 4 3/4 inch fast taper style barrel, grip safety, the unmarked polished lower safety area and the correctly marked "LOADED" extractor. Numbered in the commercial style with full serial number (29334) stamped on the underside of the barrel and front of the frame and the last two digits of the serial number (34) stamped on the various small parts including the grips. The underside of the barrel has a small shield proof that was applied by the barrel inspectors in the 1906 time frame. The front end of the frame is also stamped "GERMANY" indicating export outside of Europe. It is complete with one original magazine that has the nickel plated body and an original unmarked wooden base. Manufacturer: DWM Model: 1906 BBL: 4 3/4 inch round Stock: Gauge: 7.65 mm Luger Auto Finish: blue Grips: walnut Serial Number: 29334 Class: Curio & Relic Handgun Condition: Excellent with 98% of the original blue finish overall and 90% of the straw color on the various small parts. The grips are also excellent with nice distinct original checking on both sides showing some minor handling marks/nicks and a couple of minor light pressure dents. A very rare and desirable long frame DWM Model 1906 American Eagle variation in excellent condition.
