Mosiac Panel Depicting Aphrodite's toilet with 5 figures 3rd/4th century. Material marble and rhodonite. Size 162 cm x 130 cm; All mosaics are made of multi-component materials: the main background is marble tesserae, while the human figures are made of pink and red rhodonite tesserae, an extremely rare and expensive material in ancient times. At that time, it was mined only in Bactria, modern-day Afghanistan. There are also tesserae made of smalt, colored glass, and ironwood. All mosaics are of museum value and monumental size. The mosaic "The Battle of Alexander the Great and the Persians" is a rare monumental mosaic canvas. The monumental marble head of the philosopher Epicurus is perfectly preserved and is an extremely rare artifact. No more than a dozen sculptural images of the philosopher Epicurus have survived to this day. Note - Comes with authentication and proper paperwork. Located in USA and can be shipped to any country.
