A charming vintage Chinoiserie-style lacquered keepsake box, richly decorated with hand-painted botanical and fruit motifs against a dramatic crackled black lacquer ground. The gently domed lid is adorned with an abundant arrangement of fruit, foliage, and grapes accented with luminous gilt detailing, while each side of the box features individually rendered floral compositions, creating a decorative object that is visually engaging from every angle. The fitted rectangular form is complemented by an engraved brass hasp with locking mechanism, lending the piece both functionality and period character. Opening to reveal a fully lined brown suede-like interior, the box offers an elegant storage solution for jewelry, correspondence, treasured mementos, or personal accessories.
