Mid-19th-century American historical engraving depicts the dramatic Revolutionary War capture of British spy Major John Andre by American militiamen John Paulding, David Williams, and Isaac Van Wart in 1780. Based on the celebrated 1833 painting by Hudson River School master Asher Brown Durand, this print features figures engraved by Alfred Jones, with the detailed landscape backdrop executed by James Smillie and Robert Hinshelwood. Framed. Not examined out of frame.
