26in An American Victorian era schoolhouse or short drop wall clock, produced in the late 19th century. The wooden case features an octagonal upper hood housing the dial and a shaped lower drop section with a circular pendulum viewing window. The case is finished in a rosewood or mahogany veneer. The lower door features a circular glass panel with a reverse-painted floral design of roses and foliage within colorful concentric borders. The white-painted circular dial presents black Roman numeral hour markers and an outer minute track with diamond-shaped indicators at five-minute intervals. It is equipped with two black-finished hands, including a spade-style hour hand and a straight minute hand. Two winding arbors are present, indicating a time-and-strike mechanism. The interior backboard retains a partial manufacturer?s paper label with fragmentary text including Pend[u]l[um]. A circular brass-clad pendulum and a double-ended winding key are included.
