This Jensen Interceptor Mk3 remained with its first owner 20 years and was imported to Europe in 2009. The car is in authentic daily driver condition. This example from the third series with 440 BigBlock V8 engine (7.2 liter cubic capacity) received an increase in output to 377 kW (505 hp) through Jensen of North America! As a new GT of the traditional sports car manufacturer, the Interceptor received a body by the Italian designer studios Touring. The model remained in production from 1966 until the end of the company for more than 10 years and was produced in three body variants, of which the most common is the present ‘Saloon’ with its large panoramic rear window.

Jensen Motors
When the brothers Allan and Richard Jensen received an Austin Seven Chummy as a gift from her father in 1923, certainly no one knew what was to evolve from this. The brothers did not consider the vehicle to have enough of a sporty character. They began to rebuild it and use it at competitions, which made them be noticed by the chief engineer of the Standard Motor Co., who ordered a similar conversion by the brothers. This conversion was based on a Standard Nine chassis and became a huge success, a production version for the company Avon was requested and eventually at the produced by Avon Standard. The first Interceptor was much more in line with the sporty concept of the brand, even though its form was initially not appreciated by everyone. Sales remained manageable with only 88 pieces, and only the 541, presented in 1955 and designed by Eric Neale, sold better. From 1968 onwards the FF with a slightly modified front than conventional rear-wheel drive was available. This elegant coupe called Interceptor remained in the manufacturer's program until 1976 and was built 6727 times. In 1972, the urge to produce and sell large numbers resulted in the Jensen-Healey, on which the American security regulations imposed unsightly plastic bumpers.
