Until about 2005, this Daimler V8 was part of a Jaguar collection in the South of England. The car was initially delivered to Stratstone Mayfair, London. For about 10 years it has been in possession of a German collector. The car has the original certificate by the Daimler Jaguar Heritage Trust. The original British license plate from the first delivery is also still available. On the tailgate the country code 'GB' is mounted in chrome letters, so is the Union Jack plaque. A few years ago, the car had a light tail damage, whereby also the rear bumper was affected. This has not been replaced but merely repaired.

Daimler
Daimler is one of the oldest British car manufacturers and was established in 1896 for the construction of commercial vehicles in Coventry, England. The purchased patents by Gottlieb Daimler formed the basis of the company, which soon offered its first truck. During the First World War, Daimler produced engines for aircrafts and tanks. These new types of weapons resulted in an unexpected abundance of orders, so that the company was able to expand distinctly. With the gained know-how from the years of war and the capitulation of Germany and its allies, Daimler took the chance to enter the promising automotive manufacture: the Daimler Double-Six was the first European production car with V12 engine. From this time on, many nobles and the British Royal Family were among Daimler's illustrious clientele. In 1960 Jaguar bought up the company for a total amount of 3.4 million pounds. To this day, Daimler models are characterized by their lavish equipment, top workmanship and best materials in the interiors.
