Qualifies for in-house shipping---Graham Greene (British, 1904-1991), English writer and journalist regarded by many as one of the leading novelists of the 20th century---Two 8" x 6" typed letters, each signed "Graham Greene", each letter with engraved heading address "La Residence des Fleurs,/ Avenue Pasteur, / 06600 Antibes" for Greene's apartment in Antibes; each letter addressed to "Mr. Anreus" in response to his letters---Letter dated July 28, 1980, in which Grreene declines a request to write about Cuba stating ".....But I am afraid I only write political protests about countries which I have at least recently visited and of which I have personal knowledge. I haven't visited Cuba since 1966 and I refuse to write without personal knowledge. Otherwise I wouild have to write about almost every country of the globe......With all my sympathy in your exile...."---Letter dated November 6, 1981, in which Greene declines a proposal to write about Mr. Anneus' work stating ".....I am struggling desparately to finish a novel on which I have been working for two years and it absorbs all my time and attention. Also I do feel that I haven't seen really enough of your work to be able to write intelligently - and anyway I am not sure that I can write intelligently about painting." (Inv. 10)

All items for this auction are located in Laurens, SC. We offer in-house shipping for most items. Purchaser agrees that packing and shipping is done at the purchaser's risk and that the purchaser will pay for all packing expenses, materials, carrier fees, and insurance charges. We can provide a list of recommended shippers for items that we cannot handle. Ivy Auctions, Inc. will have no liability for loss or damage to shipped items. Items must be paid for in full before they will be shipped. Any shipping estimates given are estimates and are based on shipping within the continental United States. Delivery and storage shall be available at purchaser's expense and risk. Otherwise, all property should be removed from the premises at the sale conclusion unless prior arrangements have been made with "Ivy Auctions Inc." Purchased items not picked up from our auction facility within ten business days of the auction will be assessed a storage fee of $10.00 per day. If any employee or agent of Ivy Auctions, Inc. shall pack or transport the merchandise, it is fully at the risk, responsibility and expense of the purchaser; and Ivy Auctions Inc. shall not be liable for any loss or damage that may be caused by such employee or agent.
