Engraved Parker Brothers GHE Upgrade Double Barrel Shotgun in Desirable and Rare .410 Bore Chambering Manufactured in 1926, the introductory year for the .410 model. This is a very fine example of a professionally refinished Parker Brothers double in the scarce .410 bore chambering. The barrels feature dual white bead sights on the concave, matte rib marked "PARKER BROS. MAKERS. MERIDEN. CT.U.S.A. SPECIAL STEEL". 2 1/2 inch chambers, improved cylinder/improved cylinder chokes, and selective automatic ejectors. The receiver features highly detailed G grade style engraving of ducks, quail, and pheasants on the sides and bottom with flourishes of fine scroll and scalloped line borders. The under side of the frame is also engraved with the later style "PARKER" marking. Fitted with a fancy, multi-point checkered beavertail forearm and straight grip stock with checkered flats, a blank initial shield, and a checkered Parker Brothers hard rubber "dog's head" buttplate. The stock measurements and weight are: drop at comb 1 3/4 inch; drop at heel 2 3/4 inch; length of pull 14 1/4 inches; weight 5 Lbs 12.4 Oz. Mechanically excellent. .410 Parker doubles are rare in any condition, let alone as handsomely refinished as this example.
