DWM Luger Model 1906 American Eagle Semi-Automatic Pistol with Exceptional Ideal Combination Shoulder Stock and Holster This is a nice example of a DWM Model 1906 Commercial Luger made for export to the United States that has been fitted with an Ideal shoulder stock/leather holster. These Luger shoulder stocks were patented by the Ideal Holster Company and made expressly for these early commercial Luger pistols. To utilize this stock, the Luger required a set of walnut grips with a steel backing plate also designed by the Ideal company which attached to the telescoping metal stock. Additionally, the stock can extended an additional 4 inches giving it an overall length of 14 inches. The metal frame of the stock is attached to a leather holster to store the pistol. The metal frame is marked "PATENTS PENDING". The chamber is marked with the American Eagle crest, and the front toggle link is marked with the DWM logo. The front of the frame has the full serial number/GERMANY indicating it was exported out of Germany, and the bottom of the barrel is also marked with only the serial number. It has the full number on the barrel and frame with the partial number on the underside of the barrel extension, small parts, and the wood base magazine are unmarked. It has the pre-war blued finish, and the safety, trigger, takedown lever, and ejector have a straw color.
