Custom Engraved and Gold Inlaid Parker Brothers AAHE Style Double Barrel Shotgun Based on the information in THE PARKER GUN: AN IMMORTAL AMERICAN CLASSIC by Larry L. Baer, it states that the AAHE grade Parker Bros. shotguns were the second most expensive shotgun available at that time and sold for $610 in 1922; this equates to nearly $8,500 in 2015 matched for inflation using the CPI Inflation Calculator! According to the data in THE PARKER STORY, only 237 AA Hammerless models were manufactured by 1942 out of a production total of 180,687 hammerless shotguns. The barrels feature dual bead sights on a solid matte rib. The breech end of each barrel has a 2 1/2 inch wedge of floral scroll engraving. The barrels are numbered to the gun, feature 2 3/4 inch chambers, ejectors, and are choked modified/improved modified. The action, trigger guard, break lever and forearm hardware are very nicely engraved with fine floral scroll designs. "Parker Bros. is in gold relief on the underside of the action, and the matching gold relief serial number is on the lower tang. The water table is marked with the three line patent date information on the right side and "AAH" over the serial number and "7" on the left. The barrels are blued. The single trigger is finished in gold as is the selector mounted next to it. The tang mounted automatic safety has a gold "S", and the remaining parts are casehardened. It is mounted with a nicely figured walnut beavertail forearm and high comb straight grip stock with fancy bordered checkering, fleur-de-lis checkered recessed flats, and vented recoil pad. The initial oval has an engraved "SG" monogram. Measurements - Bore Diameter at Muzzle: .746 inch, Choke: modified/improved modified, Wall Thickness: .046 at 9 inches from breech, Chamber Length: 2 3/4 inches, Length of Pull: 14 1/4 inches, Drop at Comb: 1 1/2 inches, Drop at Heel: 1 1/2 inches, Cast: none, Toe: none, Overall Weight: 8 pounds 7 ounces.
