Extremely Rare Engraved Parker Brothers DHE 410 Gauge Double Barrel Shotgun Only 59 out of a total of 9,346 DH grade hammerless shotguns manufactured by Parker Brothers with 26 inch "Titanic Steel" barrels were chambered in the 410 bore based on the information available in THE PARKER STORY on page 291. A total of 60 were manufactured in .410 if you include the one example listed with 28 inch barrels making this 1926 produced example extremely rare. It features a concave solid matte rib marked "PARKER BROS. MAKERS. MERIDEN, CONN. TITANIC STEEL" with a single bead front sight, and the barrels are choked improved modified and have 2 1/2 inch chambers with ejectors. The right side of the water table is marked with the Parker Bros. patent information ("PAT'D OCT 25 1910") above "DH", and the left side is marked with serial number above the number "3." The lower tang, barrels, and forearm hardware have matching numbers. The receiver has floral scroll engraving patterns along with a hunting dog on each side and four pheasants on the underside. The receiver also has "PARKER BROS" in a banner on each side. The scrollwork designs extend to the trigger guard and break lever. It is equipped with double triggers and an automatic tang safety and is mounted with a multi-point checkered splinter forearm and round knob pistol grip stock with tear drop flats, blank initial oval, skeleton steel buttplate, checkering on the bare wood butt, and engraved attaching screws. Measurements - Choke: improved modified, Chamber Length: 2 1/2 inches, Length of Pull: 14 inches, Drop at Comb: 2 inches, Drop at Heel: 3 1/8 inches, Cast: neutral, Toe: neutral, Overall Weight: 5 pounds 6 ounces. The balance of gun retains 98% of the original blue finish remains on the barrels with only some small handling marks and mild surface scratches. The receiver has 97% plus of the original deep case colors with only some silvering at the edges and at the break. The engraving designs and markings are crisp and clean. The professionally refinished wood is very fine with well defined checkering, attractive grain, and minimal small handling marks. It is mechanically excellent.
