Confederate $100 and $500 Notes The $100 is dated September 2nd, 1861, (T-13 1861) and would have been redeemable six months after a ratified treaty in the event of a Confederate victory in the war. It is note numbered. It has a sailor in the lower left and a scene of three slaves loading bales of cotton at the center. The $500 note is dated February 17th, 1864, and would have been redeemable two years after a ratified treaty in the event of a Confederate victory. It is one of the more attractive southern notes and has a red background, Lieutenant General Stonewall Jackson in the lower right, and the battle flag with a laurel above the Confederate seal and an array of munitions on the right. It is "No. 32857". Only a small percentage of Confederate currency has survived given it was essentially scrap paper when the war ended. Those notes that survive are interesting pieces of both numismatic and American history. Manufacturer: None Model: None BBL: Stock: Gauge: Finish: Grips: Serial Number: Class: Other Condition: Fine.
