Excellent Cased Engraved Tranter Patent Double Action Percussion Revolver with Retailer Marking "W. TRANTER/PATENT" is marked on the loading lever and left side of the frame. The revolver has a floral scroll engraving on the frame, trigger guard, loading lever, and breech end of the barrel. The leading edge to the cylinder has a deeply cut twisted rope band. An engraved band is at the muzzle. British proofs are present, including on the cylinder between the chambers. The right side of the frame is marked "N15750T." The top strap has a retailer marking: "Wm LOWE CHESTER." The right side of the frame has a cylinder safety stop. A loading lever is mounted on the left side of the frame. The cylinder is casehardened. The hammer and loading lever are left in the white. Fitted with a checkered one-piece grip with engraved buttcap. The partitioned case is lined in green felt and holds a Tranter's patent brass two cavity bullet mold, bore rod, oiler, Tranter's lubricating composition tin, grease tin, and plain bag shaped Dixon & Sons powder flask. The revolver retains 90%-95% plus bright original high polished blue finish with a pleasing smooth blue-brown patina on the balance. The cylinder retains 80% original case colors, otherwise faded to a gray. The engraving and markings are crisp. The grip is excellent with overall crisp checkering. Mechanically excellent. The fully accoutrement complemented case is fine with a crack on the lid, minor handling/storage marks, and some high spot wear on the lining.
