Lot: 52 - Six U.S. Standing Liberty Quarters

Six U.S. Standing Liberty Quarters Introduced in 1916 to replace the long-running Barber design, the Standing Liberty quarter was created by noted sculptor Hermon Atkins MacNeil and is celebrated as one of the most beautiful yet controversial designs in American numismatic history. The coin's initial 1916 and 1917 Type 1 issues caused a public stir because Lady Liberty's right breast was exposed, prompting a hasty mid-1917 redesign (Type 2) that covered her upper torso in chainmail armor and adjusted the stars on the reverse. Strikingly beautiful but structurally flawed, the design had a brief 15-year production run that ended in 1930 because its raised date wore away too quickly in circulation, paving the way for the Washington quarter in 1932. None of these have a visible date.

Collection of 67 Eisenhower $1 Coins Authorized by Congress in late 1970, the Eisenhower dollar was created both to honor the recent passing of President Dwight D. Eisenhower and to celebrate the historic Apollo 11 moon landing, featuring a reverse design adapted directly from the mission's official patch. Released in 1971, it was the first silver-dollar-sized coin minted in the United States since 1935, though for general circulation, it was struck in a base copper-nickel clad composition rather than precious metal. Ultimately, its bulky size and heavy weight made it deeply unpopular for daily commerce, leading to an abruptly short production run that ended in 1978 to make way for the smaller Susan B. Anthony dollar. 1971- 12 1972- 18 1974- 13 1776-1976 Bicentennial- 22 1977- 1 1978- 1

Michel Delacroix Watercolor "Hôtel du parc" Signed in lower left and on the back. Sight- 14.5" x 20.5" Frame- 24.5" x 30.5" Over the last few months, we have had the privilege of offering exceptional original Michel Delacroix oil paintings from this estate. In this upcoming sale, we are proud to present the final 12 (9 oils, 3 watercolors) original pieces from this remarkable collection, which represent the absolute last of the original works held by our consignor. The family maintained a close personal friendship with Michel Delacroix himself, giving these masterpieces a rare and deeply personal provenance that will likely never be duplicated on the market again. Born in Paris in 1933, Michel Delacroix is one of the world's leading proponents of the "Naïf" style, celebrated for his nostalgic depictions of a poetic, bygone Paris. His signature aesthetic was shaped by his childhood memories of the city during the 1940s. This dedication to the "poetic past" earned him prestigious honors, including being named the official artist of the 1996 Centennial Olympic Games. Delacroix's work remains highly coveted by international collectors, with his original paintings recently commanding auction prices of $24,130, $24,300, $32,500 and $44,100. As documented by Saper Galleries (https://www.sapergalleries.com/Delacroix.html), additional Delacroix pieces have sold for $41,000, $45,000, and $49,000, alongside several other high-value sales. In the U.S. alone, Delacroix's work has been featured in over 300 solo exhibitions, from New York City, Boston, and Washington, D.C., to Los Angeles, Carmel, Denver, Seattle, and San Francisco. Abroad, his work has been exhibited in France, Switzerland, Germany, Luxembourg, England, and Japan. It forms part of the permanent collections of the Musee International d'Art Naïf and the Foundation Max Fournay in Paris, and of private collections around the globe.

Kennedy Half Dollars from 1965-1969 (67 Total) 1965- 5 1966- 7 1967- 23 1968- 20 1969- 12 Following the massive silver shortages and hoarding of the 90% silver 1964 coins, Congress passed the Coinage Act of 1965. This legislation eliminated silver entirely from dimes and quarters, but kept a reduced composition for the half dollar, striking them with a core of 21% silver and 79% copper, clad in an outer layer of 80% silver and 20% copper—resulting in a net 40% silver weight per coin (or about 0.1479 troy ounces of pure silver).
