CIRCA 1914 FOREST HILLS QUEENS, NY IRON STREETLIGHT FIXTURE Early 20th c. Wrought Iron Tudor Revival Style Light Fixture, with seven glass insert panels, originally perched atop a lamppost in Station Square, in the Forest Hills area of Queens, NY. The Old English design for this area, including the street lighting, was created architect Grosvenor Atterbury and landscape architect Frederick Law Olmsted, Jr. to give it a quiet village atmosphere. The surface of the fixture has been sandblasted and re-painted with a glossy black enameled finish, with 3 1/2" opening in hanging sleeves. Needs wiring.

Tradesmen of every kind used them to build a postwar country as the G.I.'s returned home to have families and move to the newly created suburbs. President Eisenhower would enlist many more workmen to create the Interstate highway system, and get all Americans on the road, and the Chevrolet 3100 pickup was there! For your consideration: This very nice 1953 Chevrolet 3100 Pickup Truck painted in a happy yellow hue is equipped with a rebuilt 216 cubic inch Inline 6 cylinder engine linked to a column-shifted 3-speed standard transmission. Dolphin gauges advise the driver of all engine functions, the bed has a very serviceable oak floor, and overall, the truck is ready for parades, ice cream stands and daily pleasure! As with any antique vehicles, true mileage is unknown.

1973 CORVETTE STINGRAY An offering of a classic Corvette Stingray. This car has been partially restored and its original engine has been replaced with a 1969 Small Block V8 with 302 cu. in. displacement engine, delivering power via 2-speed Powerglide automatic transmission. The interior features beige carpeting with beige leather seats, AM/FM radio with cassette deck, full dashboard display, removable roof panels, and stowage compartments behind the seats. The vehicle is currently fitted with Cooper Cobra Radial G/T tires. A Haynes Repair Manual for the series is included. ODO: 90,465 VIN: K15418945 This is a project car, more or less. Should be drivable but it will certainly need some work to "fully" restore it. Gaskets are falling off for the hood and passenger side doors. The roof panel on the drivers side has been damaged from a previous incident and is missing one of the tension adjustment screws for the front latch.

1966 VOLKSWAGEN BEETLE (TYPE 1) 1300 Serial No. 116655721, manufactured January 1966. Powered by a clean, original 1300cc code F engine, delivering approximately 45 horsepower. Odometer reads 17,222 miles. Electrical system upgraded to 12 volts, equipped with an in-dash 1969-vintage Sapphire XVIII AM radio and an aftermarket Sony cassette player in the glove compartment. Gently-worn but intact "Balearic beige" leatherette upholstery. Seatbelts with Wolfsburg-crest buckles. New 165/80R15 blackwall radial tires. Java Green paint is clean with a few minor scuffs and chips, and a small dent at the base of the right front fender. Some body work is evident along the door frames. Chrome trim shows even wear, and unused replacement trim strips and chrome exhaust tips are stowed in the luggage compartment. Headliner needs attention, but a VW-branded replacement in its original box is stowed in the luggage compartment. Floor mats show heavy wear, but floor pans are solid. LAPSTRAKE PEAPOD ROWBOAT Beautiful, handmade Peapod rowboat. The vessel features beautiful lapstrake construction with the planks joined by copper rivets. The exterior of the hull is painted cream white, with varnished wood above the waterline, and the interior is painted naval gray with varnished wood seats. There are four seats in the vessel, one each at the bow and stern and two bench seats for the rowers in the center. Included are two pairs of Shaw & Tenney oars, hand-carved in Orono, Maine with leather-wrapped collars to reduce wear from the oarlocks. No oarlocks are included with this lot. 14'4" long, 4'4" wide. Overall excellent condition. According to the consignors the boat was very seldom in the water and has spent most of its life indoors

Two seats with woven cane inserts, only one is installed. Includes two 4 1/2 foot ash oars, still in the stretch wrap. Canoe is in immaculate condition, showing little evidence of use. Lincoln Canoe and Kayak, founded in Stow, Massachusetts in 1959, and operated for many years in Freeport, Maine, is well-known for its high-quality, lightweight canoes, especially favored by anglers.

A RARE LOUIS VUITTON NATURAL COWHIDE LEATHER MALLE À FLEURS TRUNK A rare Louis Vuitton small trunk of malle à fleurs type, covered in natural cowhide leather and fitted with brass mounts and side handles, the lid centered with the initials "R.R.D.". The interior is lined in pink patterned textile with stamped Louis Vuitton mark and serial number 768784, retaining working lock and two keys. Overall in good antique condition, with a surface scratch and general wear consistent with age and use. The cowhide has developed an attractive honey-brown patina. The floral embroidered lining shows only minor fraying to a small area, with color well preserved. Structure sound, with well-functioning hardware and closures. Similar examples of vache lisse malle à fleurs (cowhide "flower trunk") are documented in Louis Vuitton archives of the 1920s period.

19TH C. COPELAND PARIAN SCULPTURE OF SIR WALTER SCOTT W/ BASE Reduction of the Memorial Statue of Sir Walter Scott housed in the monument on Princes Street in Edinburgh. George Melkie Kemp (1795-1844) designed the building, Scottish sculptor John Steell (1804-1891) carved the statue of Scott and his dog, Maida. Includes loose wooden plinth. Inaugurated in 1846, the Scott Monument is a Gothic monument built in honor of the Scottish writer Sir Walter Scott. The spire is decorated with 64 figures representing various characters from the writer's novels. At 200 feet, it is the world's second largest memorial erected to a writer, surpassed only by the Jose Martí monument in Havana, Cuba at 358 feet. Kemp died in 1844, under mysterious circumstances, he was found drowned in the Union Canal six days after disappearing overnight.

ISIDORE KONTI (NY/AUSTRIA, 1862-1938) Playing Pan Pipes for His Lover, with man and woman seated leaning against each other languidly, eyes downcast, cast and patinated bronze, signed on back "I. Konti". Tiny bright rub on his toe. The female model here is considered the first "supermodel" in modern history. She was Audrey Munson, who became the face of the Beaux Arts movement in her short four-year career. Born in 1891 in Rochester, she was noticed by the artist while walking down Broadway with her mother at age 15. He immediately took her into his studio, wherein she was immortalized by many pieces still decorating NYC. She even made one of the screen's earliest nude appearances in a silent film of 1915, "Inspiration," later reissued as "The Perfect Model." Her career was disrupted in 1919 when her landlord murdered his wife to be with her in an imagined tryst. In 1931 she was committed to an asylum by her mother, where she died in 1996 at age 104!

Richard Fenton Outcault is considered the father of the American comic strip, introducing his first important feature, "The Yellow Kid," in the New York World in 1895. In maple slat frame, floated within mat over white board, under plexi by Drummond, East 21st St, NYC. Mumford studied at the Skowhegan School of Painting in 1952; the Chelsea School of Art, London in 1952–53; and the Brooklyn Museum School of Art in 1953–54. She was a member of the Tenth Street cooperative, the Area Gallery, where she had two solo exhibitions in 1958 and 1959. In the 1970s she was a founding member of the Landmark Gallery in SoHo, where she was the subject of five solo exhibitions, and participated in several group shows. Mumford lived in Manhattan before moving with her family to Brooklyn Heights and spending summers in mid-coast Maine. Her earliest work, often portraits of those closest to her, was distinguished by symbolist overtones and subtle, "primitive" drama. By the early 1970s, she turned to a greater degree of naturalism in her depiction of figures, although the environments and interiors were often imagined.

Similar to the work of his father Max Kuehne (NY/GER, 1800-1968) Per obituary of Richard Kuehne: "After the war, he was a curator at the Cloisters in New York City, and served briefly as the director of a private museum in Saginaw, Michigan. After a move to Kingston, N.Y, he worked as a shipyard welder by day, and perfected his father's gilding techniques in his spare time. He was hired as the Curator of History at the West Point Military Museum. Richard spent the next 24 years at West Point, soon moving to the position of museum director. He was the first civilian director in the museum's history. He was responsible for turning a very large collection of arms and armor into the largest military museum in the western hemisphere. Under his direction, the museum became a popular destination for visitors to the academy."
