A circa late 1940’s – early 1950’s home made two hose scuba demand regulator made from New Old Stock (NOS) aircraft O2 demand regulator and gas mask hoses, as shown in Popular Science magazine 1953. Then called a Diving Lung. This would be set up to attach to the WWII surplus NOS aircraft oxygen tanks to make a complete scuba rig. Not may of these garage-built two hose regs survived from those early days. This one shows little, if any use. Comes with the 1953 copy of Popular Science that shows how to build the system.
