Excellent World War II 1943 Production U.S. Inland Mfg. Div. M1 Semi-Automatic Carbine Manufactured in early 1943, a part of the first production block (serial number range 101 to 999,000) manufactured by the Inland Manufacturing Division of General Motors from May 1942 to December 1943. It has fixed "N" marked winged blade front and dual "L" flip peep rear sights, a "12-42" dated Inland barrel, a type 1 barrel band with "UI" marked swivel, "IA" marked flat-top blued bolt, "PI" type 1 operating rod, and an Inland milled trigger housing with "EI" type 3 magazine catch, type 2 push-button safety, "GI" type 1 dog-leg hammer, and "RI" marked sear. Fitted with an "IO" marked deep-groove walnut two-rivet handguard with "J.V.R. FKH" carved into the underside and an "I" cut high-wood walnut stock marked with "IO" and "flaming bomb" stamps in the sling channel, a large "ordnance wheel" on the right of the butt, and a circled "P" under the grip. Includes a web sling and metal oiler. Note: This item features a high-capacity magazine which has a capacity above 10 rounds and is considered an assault weapon in some states.   • Condition: Excellent, retaining 95% plus original parkerized and blue finishes with dried grease, some minor patches of spotting and brown patina, light wear, and clear markings. The wood is also excellent with some minor scuffs, a few tiny chips, mostly clear stamps, and attractive original raised grain. Mechanically excellent. Overall an attractive original example of an early 1943 production U.S. Inland Mfg. Div. M1 Carbine!
