World War II Nazi 1940-42 Code Mauser Luger Semi-Automatic Pistol Rig with 1940 Dated Holster and Two Matching Magazines This is a very fine example of an original pre-war 1940 dated, "42 code" Nazi Mauser Luger rig. These Lugers feature a salt blue metal finish with checkered walnut grips. The chamber area is marked with the full date of 1940 with the new "42" code marking for the Mauser factory on the front toggle. The right side of the barrel extension has the early double "Eagle/ 655" proofs and the single "Eagle/ Swastika" firing proof, with both proofmarks also on the top rear section of the barrel. The left side of breechblock is also marked with "Eagle and Swastika" test/acceptance proof. The safety and extractor are marked "GESICHERT" and "GELADEN" respectively. This pistol is complete with two matching, "122/E37" Waffenamt proofed with the pinned aluminum bases that are stamped: "E/37/8779/a/" and "E/37/8779/a/+/" with a 1940 dated, black leather holster. The back of the holster is stamped "KARL BUCKER/1940/WALDBROL/Eagle WaA195". Manufacturer: Mauser Model: P08 BBL: 3 7/8 inch round Stock: Gauge: 9 mm Luger Finish: blue Grips: walnut Serial Number: 8779a Class: Curio & Relic Handgun Condition: Excellent with 97% of the original blue finish showing wear on the edges and high spots and finish loss on the side plate, muzzle area and frame rails. The holster is excellent with a nice black color overall with some minor age cracking on the face of the leather in some area with a small amount of wear on the toe and lower corners of the magazine pouch.
