World War II German Mauser K98k High Turret Bolt Action Sniper Rifle with Scope Manufactured c. 1940-1945. This high turret sniper rifle has "eagle/135" proofs along with the "byf" code of the Mauser factory on various components, the left of the receiver ring is marked with the serial number and the receiver side wall is marked "Mod.98". The top of the receiver ring is covered by the high turret scope base. The left of the rear scope base correctly has a small "eagle/135" proof. The right side of the stock has a faint "eagle/WaA135" Waffenamt stamp. The rifle has stamped steel barrel bands, phosphate trigger housing and floorplate, with a cupped steel buttplate. Matching visible serial numbers marked on the receiver and bolt assembly. No visible serial numbers on the exterior or interior of the stock or handguard. The scope has "DIALYTAN 4x/bmj" and "74603/+" marked on the left side, and the correct sniper elevation knob on top graduated from 100-800 meters. The left side of the front scope ring is numbered "32116". Fitted with a period brown leather sling.   • Condition: Very good, retains 40% original blue finish, 60% phosphate finish on the trigger housing/floorplate, refinished barrel bands, brightly polished extractor, a crack in the middle of the front scope turret base, some minor oxidation, light handling marks in the stock with a lightly visible Waffenamt stamp on the right and well-defined edges. Mechanically excellent. The scope is good, retains 40% original blue finish, with pitting, and hazy but partially viewable optics.
