SN 66712. Cal. 30. A very attractive, high condition 1906 American Eagle Luger in .30 Cal. with 4-3/4" bbl marked "GERMANY" for export sale. Usual drift adjustable front sight and fixed rear sight. American Eagle deeply impressed over chamber. Intertwined "DWM" on middle toggle link. Full SN overlying "GERMANY" on forward frame with the full SN repeated under bbl. All small parts matched to the last two digits of the SN. "Crown/N" on left side of receiver and repeated under bbl. Major parts rust blued. Strawed takedown lever, trigger, magazine release, ejector and safety lever. Fire blued toggle pins and grip screws. Correct orig walnut checkered grips that are unnumbered. Unmarked magazine. PROVENANCE: The Frank H. Wheaton, III Collection. CONDITION: Approximately 98% strong, orig rust blue that equally applies to the frontstrap, grip safety and backstrap. Although the front sight is also blued rather than fire blued, there is no suggestion of surrounding touch up. Oxidative fading of the takedown lever, trigger and safety lever in the usual areas or contact with overall straw estimated at 85%. Sharp checkering with slight blunting of diamonds, particularly on the right panel near the base. Grip screws with expected fading over crown. Very good magazine with walnut plug having been sanded and possibly replaced. Dull bore with superficial oxidation. Perfect manual mechanics. 51516-24 LMA C&R
