Magnificent Master Engraved and Gold Inlaid Signed Kolouch Winchester Model 42 Slide Action Shotgun This shotgun was manufactured in 1959 and subsequently engraved by Master Engraver Walter Kolouch and features beautiful floral scroll and punch dot engraving on the receiver and trigger guard. There are wedges of the same scroll pattern on the sides of the muzzle, the sides of the magazine tube band, on either side of the band, on the breech end sides of the barrel and on the magazine tube at the breech. There are gold inlaid accents on the muzzle and a flower and accents on the breech end of the barrel. The left side of the receiver has gold inlaid setter scaring up three gold inlaid pheasants in a wooded scene and the right side has a gold inlaid hunting dog scaring up four gold inlaid quail in a wooded scene. Each side of the receiver has decorative gold inlaid wire bordering and a gold inlaid flower at each end of the scenes. The trigger guard has the same gold inlaid flower and accents. The serial number on the frame and takedown ring are gold inlaid. There is also a wedge of the same pattern on the rear portion of the bolt and follower. The upper edge of the ejector port is signed "ENG. W. KOLOUCH". The shotgun is equipped with two white bead sights on the solid matte rib, chambered 3" and choked full and is mounted with deluxe highly figured checkered American walnut forearm and pistol grip stock with a contrasting wood grip cap and a black plastic checkered Winchester buttplate. Not only is Walter Kolouch a master engraver, but also a skilled gunsmith, finisher and stock maker.
