Winchester Model 21 Skeet Grade Two Barrel Set Double Barrel Shotgun with Case Manufactured circa 1947. Both sets of barrels are 26 inches in length, are numbered to the gun, are choked WS-1 and WS-2, are Winchester proofed steel with dual sights, red bead front and brass bead mid sight (mid sight absent on one set) on the matte concave solid rib, 2 3/4 inch chamber on one and 3 inch on the other and both have ejectors. The two share the same forearm. One set of barrels is marked "WINCHESTER 20 GAUGE/2 3/4 CHAM." on the left rear and the other "MODEL 21 -WINCHESTER-/-TRADE MARK- 20 GAUGE 3 IN." The trigger plate is marked "SKEET", and the water table bears the patent markings, model and address. Single trigger with selector and tang mounted manual safety with gold "SAFE" marking, and mounted with a nicely figured checkered walnut beaver tail forearm and pistol grip stock with a Winchester hard rubber grip cap and checkered bare butt. Drop at the heel is 2 1/2 inches, drop at the comb is 1 1/2 inches, weight is 6.55 pounds, bore diameter on barrels with 3 inch chambers .611/.611 inch, wall thickness is .045 inch, diameter of the set of barrels with 2 3/4 inch chambers is .617/.617 inch, wall thickness .032/.032 inch, and the length of pull is 14 1/8 inches. Comes with a Winchester hardcase with leather corner protectors, straps and handle and red felt lining with a Winchester Model 21 label affixed to the inside of the lid. In the case are two nickel snap caps and a nickel oiler. The set of barrels on the shotgun retain 97% original blue finish with some very minor muzzle wear and some wear caused by the forearm. The receiver retains 95% original blue finish with some minor scratching on the underside and some mild high point wear. There is some thinning and areas of smooth gray patina on the trigger guard and lower tang with 60% remaining. The extra barrel set retains 97% plus original blue finish with only light handling marks. The very fine wood shows some normal handling wear, some minor dings and pressure dents, and a small amount of crazing. The markings are crisp and clear. Mechanically excellent. The case is fine with a moderate stain on the outside of the lid.
