Winchester Model 21 Double Barrel Duck Shotgun with Case Manufactured from 1940 to 1952. The barrels on the shotgun are 32 inches long with a single steel bead sight on the matte concave solid rib. The left rear barrel is marked "WINCHESTER 12 GAUGE/3 IN. CHAM." The bottom of each Winchester proof steel barrel is marked "FULL". The barrel flats are marked with the Winchester oval proof and matching serial number. The water table is marked with the Winchester oval proof on the right side, and the left side is marked "MADE IN U.S.A. MODEL 21/WINCHESTER REPEATING ARMS CO./NEW HAVEN CONN." The right side is marked with the three-line patent numbers. The trigger guard plate is marked "DUCK". Single trigger with selector, tang mounted automatic safety with gold "SAFE" and mounted with a nicely figured checkered beaver tail forearm (numbered to the gun) and pistol grip stock with solid Winchester recoil pad. The barrel and stock measurements are: bore diameter at 9 inches from breech .731/.730 inch; wall thickness at 9 inches from breech .054/.055 inch; drop at comb 1 1/2 inches; drop at heel 2 1/4 inches; length of pull 13 1/2 inches. Displaying a few light surface scratches, a visible polishing ripple effect on the professionally refinished barrels, and evidence that the Winchester marking on the barrel has been double stamped. The wood is very fine with crisp checkering, attractive figure, light surface scratches, and small pressure dents throughout. Mechanically excellent. The case is fair with scuffs and gouges overall, old shipping labels, and a partially detached shipping handle.
