Manufacturer: Winchester Model: 1892 BBL: 24 inch round Stock: varnished walnut Gauge: 32 WCF Finish: blue Grips: Serial Number: 622716 Class: Curio & Relic Long Gun Condition: Excellent. This rifle is all original and retains 90% plus of the bright original blue finish overall. The magazine has the usual minor scuff marks on the tip and around the barrel band found on rifles with takedown barrels. There are several scattered spots of shallow pitting on the right side of the barrel between the barrel band and the forearm tip. The blue on the forearm cap has some scattered flaking. The takedown collar shows some wear and retains about 80% of the blue finish. The receiver has some small spots of flaking on the left side and some finish loss on the upper edges near the hammer. There are several spots of light pitting on the upper rear corners of the receiver near the hammer. The bolt, loading gate and trigger have nearly all of the blue finish intact. The hammer and lever retain at least 85% of the subdued casehardened finish. The buttplate has 90% of the case colors with some silvering on the edge of the heel and light pitting on the buttplate toe. The barrel markings and serial number are crisp. The nicely figured, "Extra Finish" stock and forearm remain in excellent condition with most of the original finish. Wear is limited to several very insignificant storage marks. This is an attractive, original, example of a Winchester Model 1892 Sporting Rifle with scarce takedown barrel.
