Exceptional Documented Winchester Model 1892 Lever Action Saddle Ring Carbine Documented as Once Part of the Original Winchester Factory Collection Manufactured in 1916. Pinned blade front sight, folding adjustable carbine rear sight, saddle ring staple with ring mounted on the left side of the receiver and full length magazine tube. The barrel has the two-line address/patent information and ".32 W.C.F." on the left side. Winchester factory oval proofs are on top of the barrel and receiver at the breech, and the three-line model/trademark information is on the upper tang. Mounted with smooth gumwood forearm and straight grip stock fitted with a carbine buttplate. The carbine has two tags, a brass tag stamped "78.1/0324" and a metal tag stamped "1215". The carbine is accompanied by a typed letter dated September 7, 1994, from David's Firearms Ltd. that states that this carbine was part of the original Winchester Collection housed in New Haven, Connecticut, and is listed on page 172 of the reference book "Inventory of the Winchester Repeating Arms Company Firearms Reference Collection" by Thomas C. Johnson, Edwin Pugsley, Thomas E. Hall, Frank Burton et al, published in 1991. The Olin Corporation donated this reference collection to the Buffalo Bill Historical Center in Cody, Wyoming, and they in turn put this carbine up for sale at public auction.
