Winchester Model 1890 Gallery Style Slide Action Rifle Manufactured circa 1930, according to the Winchester Arms Collector's Association. The barrel is fitted with dovetailed beaded blade front and elevation adjustable "V" notch rear sight and is stamped with the two-line Winchester address/patent dates marking followed by -"MOD.1890.-22 SHORT." on the upper left flat ahead of the rear sight. A Winchester factory oval proof is stamped on top of the barrel and receiver at the breech. The left side of the frame has the red highlighted "WINCHESTER/TRADE MARK" marking. According to Winchester expert Ned Schwing, "While thousands of Model 90s were used extensively throughout the United States in shooting galleries, very few were stamped with the Winchester name." The magazine has the correct triangular loading port. Comes with a gallery counter fastener which Winchester introduced in 1919. The fastener is attached to a swivel mounted to the lower magazine ring. Matching serial numbers are found on the underside of the frame and lower tang. Mounted on a 12-groove round forearm and smooth straight grip stock.
