Exceptional Documented Attractive Cased Factory Engraved Gold-Inlaid Winchester Model 21 Grand American Double Barrel 20 Gauge Shotgun Two Barrel Set The included Cody Firearms Museum Records Office documents state that the shotgun was originally ordered on September 24, 1970 for Crown Wholesale Co. with work started on October 6, 1970. The documents also confirm the configuration, engraving, measurements, case and second barrel set. Red front and steel bead mid sights on the raised vent rib marked "CUSTOM BUILT BY WINCHESTER FOR B.F. PHILLIPS" with 2 3/4 inch chambers, automatic ejectors, and "WS-1/WS-2" marked chokes. The chamber areas of the barrels are engraved with fine flowing scroll. Standard markings on the barrel flats and water table including the oval "WP" Winchester proofs and all matching visible serial numbers. The receiver features full coverage floral and scroll engraving in the factory 21-6 pattern with a gold-inlaid pointer on the right, setter on the left, a pair of pheasants on the underside, and the bust of a setter on the trigger guard. The break lever and tangs are similarly engraved. Single gold-washed trigger with selector and automatic tang safety. Fitted with a skeet style beavertail forearm and straight grip stock with fancy 21-B checkering, relief carved Fleur De Lis accents, ebony forend tip insert, initial oval, and a vented Winchester recoil pad. The second barrel set is numbered to the gun, 28 inches long with matching sights, rib marking, matching engraving, 2 3/4 inch chambers, ejectors, and modified/full chokes. The second barrel set also includes its own matching forend. With a leather bound Winchester takedown case with two-piece wood cleaning rod, two sets of cleaning rod heads, 20 and 28 gauge nickel snap caps, and a nickel oil bottle. Stock measurements are: drop at comb 1 9/16 inches; drop at heel 2 5/16 inches; length of pull 14 1/4 inches. The wood is also excellent with sharp checkering, fine carving, attractive grain, and some light wear on the pad. Mechanically excellent. The second barrel set and forearm are excellent. With light handling marks, and a few very small dings on the wood. Case is excellent with some storage marks on the exterior.
