Documented 1941 Production Winchester Model 21 Standard Grade Double Barrel Shotgun with Factory Letter Manufactured in 1941. Single steel bead sight on the concave matte solid rib, 2 3/4 inch chambers with ejectors and choked modified/full. The top of the barrel at the breech is marked "MODEL 21-WINCHESTER- /TRADE MARK" followed by 12 GAUGE/2 3/4 CHAM." The underside of the barrels are Winchester Proof Steel marked "MOD." on the right, and "FULL" on the left. The right side of the water table is marked with the Winchester oval proof and the patent numbers, and "MADE IN U.S.A. MODEL 21" over the two-line address on the left side. The barrel flat, forearm hardware and wood are marked with the matching serial number. Double triggers, tang mounted automatic safety with gold "SAFE" and mounted with a nicely figured multi-point checkered walnut forearm and pistol grip stock with a checkered hard rubber Winchester buttplate. Weight is 7 pounds, 4 ounces, pitch is 3 inches, length of pull is 14 inches, drop at the heel is 2 1/2 inches and drop at the comb is 1 1/2 inches. The accompanying factory letter lists this shotgun as "symbol: G2103B", verifies the aforementioned weight and measurements, comb width as "Regular", finish and grade of wood as "Regular" made for stock, order number "Stock", that inspection started on April 18, 1941 and finished on April 29, 1941. There was no order sheet available for this serial number. The shotgun retains 85% plus original blue finish with some light spotting and minor dings on the barrels, some edge wear, some thinning to smooth gray on the trigger guard and trigger guard plate. The wood is also very good with some minor dents and dings, mainly on the left side of the stock, and crisp checkering. The markings are crisp and clear. Mechanically excellent.
