This antique volume is bound in beige cloth with stamped black lettering to the spine and front cover. A pictorial design depicting a fat man coming out from behind a black curtain appears in the upper half of the front cover. The book is in excellent condition. This work is illustrated with plates with illustrations by Herb Roth.

The intact dust jacket, with price of 75 cents on the front flap, shows minor tears at the edges. The front panel reproduces the illustration on the front cover.

This book is from the library of Leroy Truman Goble, a minor figure in the Chicago literary renaissance of the 1920's. Goble was friendly with the likes of Sherwood Anderson and Ben Hecht. He was also a photographer and artist, although he seems to have worked in the fledgling advertising in Chicago during that time.
