NSN. Cal. 22. Extremely interesting and unnecessarily complicated .22 LR single shot pistol based on a standard Luger frame and marked in the area of the previous breechblock "REMODELED BY / A.W. PETERSON & SON / DENVER". 5.25" sleeved bbl having a vertically adjustable front sight and a horizontally adjustable rear sight. The hinged bbl and receiver assembly are released by depressing a plunger mounted to the left side of the frame and rotating the attendant arm downward. At the same time, a spring inletted into the right frame rail pushes against the adjacent button, connected to the extractor, to lift the cartridge out of the chamber. The conversion also implements an external hammer and uses the magazine more as a place holder than a feeding device. Mag now presents as an in-the-white shell secured to a newly manufactured wood plug with two hollowed pins. Checkered walnut panels modified from the orig Luger and grip screws replaced by smaller head screws with a washer. PROVENANCE: The Esteemed Collection Of Noted Expert And Author Warren Buxton. CONDITION: Presents with at least 98% reapplied rust blue with only slight sharp edge thinning. The small parts are in comparable condition, suggesting that this converted pistol, admittedly awkward to use, was shot very little. Mirror bright bore. Perfect manual mechanics. You can be the only one on your block, and probably the only one in your shooting club, with this pistol, the ultimate oddity for a Luger collector! 51568-29 LMA C&R
