SN 101799P. Cal. .22LR. A super scarce Walther PP .22LR made between 1937-1940, one of about 6,000 PPs marked with SA Gruppe names and issued to members of the SA. This pistol falls into the very short, but well documented serial range issued to Niederrhein. The pistol is otherwise a standard configuration, pre-war PP .22 pistol whose slide is marked on the left side with the Walther banner followed by the Zella Mehlis address that also specifies "Cal. 22" and suffixed by "Mod PP". Crown/N proofs on the exposed chamber, on the adjacent slide, and on the right side of the bbl near the muzzle. Full SN on the right side of the frame with the last three digits hand-scribed inside the slide. On the front strap is the very desirable issue inscription "SA DER NSDAP / GRUPPE NIEDERRHEIN". Fitted with standard black plastic Walther banner/checkered panels. Orig unmarked .22 Cal. Walther magazine. Complete with unmarked, brown leather holster. PROVENANCE: The Esteemed Collection Of Noted Expert And Author Warren Buxton. CONDITION: Approximately 80% bright orig salt blue with wear in expected areas from being holstered and handled, particularly as concerns the backstrap. Most of the fire blue has faded from the safety lever. Excellent, orig grips and magazine. Bright bore with sharp rifling. Perfect manual mechanics. Holster in at least VG condition.
