Left side of slide with Walther banner followed by tow lien "Zella-Mehlis" address and suffixed by "Mod HP". Safety with usual "S" and "F" detentes, with only traces of orig paint. Fully matching with SN on right side of frame. Repeated on slide, under bbl and with last three digits on locking block. Right side of slide with Eagle/359 acceptance. Eagle/N proofing on right frame, right slide, right side of bbl and right side of locking block. Fitted with brown composition grips. Mag with "P-38" marking at bottom of left side. PROVENANCE: The Esteemed Collection Of Noted Expert And Author Warren Buxton. CONDITION: Approx 90-95% orig blue with patch of pitting over muzzle band on left side. Elsewhere with sharp edge wear and slight thinning of front strap. VG grips with each panel showing moderate wear ,the right grip having scattered dings and minor defects along lower edge. Condition of mag in keeping with balance of pistol. Mirror bright bore. Perfect manual mechanics. A scarce, Commercial P38 assembled with matching, military accepted slide. 51568-66 LMA C&R
