SN 201106. Cal. .22. Short Walther Mark II Sport, single action/double action, with 7-1/2" bbl and extended box magazine. The left side of the slide is marked with the Walther banner over the "MARK II". The center of the slide has a 3-line address referencing the model, Cal. and that it was made in France (under Walther license). The exposed bbl hood is marked with the French proof that is repeated on the right side of the frame next to the SN "201106". The front sight is a separate attachment retained by a knurled nut under spring tension. Fully adjustable rear sight and spur hammer. Brown mottled plastic grips with the left panel having a thumb rest. Secured with a single transverse screw. Extended unmarked box magazine made for .22Short with a wood base that serves to extend the grip. All major and most minor parts are salt blued except for the exposed bbl hood that is polished bright. PROVENANCE: The Esteemed Collection Of Noted Expert And Author Warren Buxton. CONDITION: Approximately 97% bright orig salt blue with sharp edge wear and a scattering of a very small nicks, largely confined to the slide. There is very little wear on the frame, though a small patch of oxidative disturbance is on the left tang. Grips are in comparable condition. Box magazine with wood base is probably from a different gun for, while it fits nicely, it will not actuate the hold-open. Bright bore with sharp rifling. Perfect manual mechanics, except as concerns the present but non-functioning hold-open. 51568-41 LMA C&R
