W. H. Calhoun Agent Nashville, Tennessee Marked Henry Deringer Pocket Pistol This pistol has "MAND FOR/W. H. CALHOUN/AGENT/NASHVILLE. TENN." stamped on the top of the barrel, "DERINGER/PHILADELA" on the lock and breech, scroll engraving, "P" on the upper left flat of the breech, and a checkered walnut stock with German silver accents and a ramrod. Calhoun was a prominent silversmith and retailer in Nashville starting in the 1840s. The stock is very good with crisp checkering, minor cracks near the wedge, a slightly loose nose cap, and a few dents. The lock is mechanically fine, and the markings are crisp.
