Engraved W. & C. Scott & Son Monte Carlo B Side Lock Double Shotgun The W. & C. Scott & Son Monte Carlo shotguns were introduced in 1891 and last shipped from the factory in 1950. They were primarily designed to be used for live pigeon shoots. This example has improved modified and improved cylinder chokes, a single steel post front sight, "W. & C. SCOTT & SON THE MONTE CARLO B. 78 SHAFTESBURY AVENUE" and "LONDON ENGLAND" marked on the top of the "SPECIAL STEEL B" barrels, "SCOTT'S/IMPROVED/BOLT" at the tail of the rib, black powder Birmingham proofmarks, tight English scrollwork and pigeon engraving, "W. C. SCOTT & SON" on the lower section of the lock plates, viewing windows to confirm if the locks are cocked, matching serial numbers, dual triggers, manual tang safety, and a finely checkered splinter forearm and straight wrist stock with tear drop flats, initial oval, 1 1/2 inch drop at the comb, 2 inch drop at the comb, and a checkered bare butt. The barrel measurements are: bore diameter at 9 inches from breech .728/.731 inch; wall thickness at 9 inches from breech .041/.0395 inch.
