These come from the 1950s and 1960s, back when woman dressed with style, adding a pair of white gloves, to look ultra-fashionable. Often, they were worn when going to church, or to a luncheon, dinner or reception, or, perhaps, to a dance, a wedding, or an official function. They were also also worn to a restaurant and in the theater.
