Vintage Wilfrid O.White & Sons Transparent Course Protactor Nautical fans, likely, recognize the name, as the company of Wilfrid O.White & Sons was well-known for their nautical instruments. Ours comes from the 1950s (possibly a little older), a Transparent Course Protactor, to navigate the seas, using your position with this instrument, starting out in Boston, back in 1920, and with offices in New York City, and Baltimore. There's detailed instructons on the Original Envelope, as well as branding and some instructions on the Protactor itself; For Compass Course Use Magnetic (Inside) Compass Rose, or: Take off Course from Degree Rose ADD Westerly Variation or SUBTRACT Easterly Variation. The Transparent Course Protactor is in Excellent condition, the Original Envelope for it has one tear, at the opening, and a few dirt spots. If you are an Old School Nautical Instrument Collector, your ship has come in, or, if you identify yourself as the uncast member of the Big Bang Theory, this would make a good score Condition: Good - Very Good (packaging has some wear, one tear)
