"Holy Pencil Shavings, Batman!" Very Vintage/Antique Climax No.3 Pencil Sharpener We can't be certain to label this "Vintage" or "Antique", as it came from somewhere between 1913 and 1921, from the Automatic Pencil Sharpener, a Division of Spengler-Loomis Mfg. Co., in Chicago. They were one of several companies, between 1910 and 1915, that introduced one or two cylindrical cutters, and there were different models of this Climax Pencil Sharpener manufactured, for different segments of the marketplace. Our is in great shape, very much in working condition. It has a sliding clamp, you can set for different pencil lengths, a pull-out door to empty your pencil shavings. and it can be secured, with screws, to your desk or table. It does show some use-wear, and a few scratches, however, it is a tremendous-looking piece, reeking of a Retro Industrial look.
