SN 86460. Cal. 7.63. 5-1/2" bbl with Mauser Banner crest marking on top chamber flat. Crown "U" proof on left chamber flat. Matching serial numbers found on chamber flat ,bolt, rear sight receiver major firing group parts. Grips are not matching. Fire blue finish on safety, firing pin, slide sight elevator,rear sight and firing pin guide. Traditional commercial Mauser markings on right receiver side with Von Lengerke marking on left. Later non numbers matching model 1930 stock holster with leather holster. These commercial series Broom handle Mauser's are typically found in only fair condition. Also attached to this grouping are 2 unidentified stripper clips and leather stock hanger. CONDITION: Very fine overall with exceptional bore and mechanics. Most blue finish remain with a small area of finish loss on right side of barrel from apparent poor storage. Several areas of period staining exist on white metal components such as the rear of bolt at grasping grooves, top of firing pin guide and rear of firing group. Follower spring is broken but functional. Two small holes have been drilled in the stock attaching slot for some unknown reason.Stock is weathered and has 2 cracks in wood evident. The first crack is at bottom of hinge and is quite minor. The second crack is a shrinkage crack and is emitting from the top through the release button and stops at the retaining screw.Stock fits gun snugly and locks properly. Leather hanger is supple with strong stitching and is makers marked with AWSE over the numbers 23 over 15. The snap pattern lanyard ring is not present. 51748-1 TDW C&R
