Issued by the United States Mint as part of the immensely popular 50 State Quarters Program, this official 2002 Proof Set represents the fourth annual release in one of the most successful numismatic programs in American history. Housed in its original U.S. Mint protective lens with presentation insert, the set contains all five brilliantly struck clad proof quarters released for 2002. Each coin was specially produced using polished dies and specially prepared planchets to achieve the mirror-like fields and frosted cameo devices that distinguish Mint-issued proof coinage. The set includes the Tennessee, Ohio, Louisiana, Indiana, and Mississippi State Quarters, each celebrating the unique heritage, culture, and historical significance of its respective state. Official proof sets such as this were produced exclusively for collectors and were never released into general circulation in this format.   • Condition: Excellent overall preserved condition. Coins display deeply mirrored proof fields with frosted cameo devices consistent with original United States Mint proof manufacture. Housed in the original U.S. Mint protective lens. Outer holder exhibits light handling wear and minor surface scuffs consistent with storage. Coins appear uncirculated.
